Hi there! We’re ProtoFrenz, a family-owned and operated business based out of Portland, Oregon, born from a love of creativity, cosplay, and community.

It all started in 2023, when we were set to attend our very first local furry convention. We were instantly captivated by the futuristic charm of Protogens. But after searching online, it quickly became clear: getting a quality Protogen head was either going to cost over a thousand dollars, require commissioning a busy artist, or involve hunting down parts from all over the internet and becoming a soldering expert overnight.

Never one to back down from a challenge, Dad dove in headfirst. He learned 3D printing, circuitry, programming, and everything in between. After months of hard work, we debuted our first head at the con—and the “oohs” and “aahs” made all the effort worth it.

But what really stuck with us were the kids and fans we met walking around in cardboard masks or basic DIY builds. We realized there was a real need for high-quality, affordable, and *accessible* Protogen heads.

That’s why we created the ProtoFrenz Modular Protogen Head—a modular, customizable Protogen head designed with comfort, style, and self-expression in mind.
